Maintenance Technician Job Description

Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician performs preventive maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and facility systems. This role helps minimize downtime, maintain safety standards, and ensure equipment operates efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections of machinery, equipment, and facilities.
• Conduct preventive maintenance according to established schedules.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and equipment breakdowns.
• Install, assemble, and test new equipment and machinery.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Coordinate with production, operations, and contractors when necessary.
• Order and maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and spare parts.
• Assist with facility upkeep, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred.
• Experience in maintenance, manufacturing, facilities, or related fields.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Basic computer skills for maintenance management systems.

Preferred Skills

• Welding and fabrication experience.
• PLC troubleshooting knowledge.
• HVAC certification.
• Electrical maintenance experience.
• Forklift or lift equipment certification.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periods.
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds or more.
• Work in indoor and outdoor environments.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, or on-call shifts as needed.
