About the Role
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Junior Production Scheduler will play an important role in coordinating production activities, monitoring workflow, and helping ensure customer orders are completed on time.
This position is ideal for someone with a machining, CNC, manufacturing, or production background who understands how work moves through a shop and is interested in developing scheduling, planning, and operational skills.
You will work closely with supervisors, machinists, production teams, purchasing, shipping, and customer service to help optimize production flow and maximize efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
· Assist with preparing and maintaining daily and weekly production schedules
· Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as required to meet customer deadlines
· Coordinate workflow between machining, assembly, finishing, and shipping departments
· Track open orders and production priorities
· Support capacity planning and identify scheduling conflicts before they impact production
· Work closely with production supervisors to optimize machine and labor utilization
· Communicate schedule updates and production status to internal departments
· Monitor incoming materials and vendor deliveries to ensure production timelines are met
· Assist with planning overtime requirements and workforce allocation
· Generate production reports and maintain accurate scheduling data within the ERP system
· Help identify process improvements that increase efficiency and reduce bottlenecks
· Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
· Ensure compliance with company quality and safety standards
What We're Looking For
Preferred Experience
· 2-4 years of experience within a machine shop, CNC machining, manufacturing, tool & die, or production environment
· Exposure to production planning, scheduling, dispatching, or workflow coordination
· Understanding of CNC machining, milling, turning, grinding, fabrication, or assembly processes
· Experience using ERP systems or production software is considered an asset
· Strong understanding of manufacturing workflows and production processes
Skills & Qualifications
· Strong organizational and time management skills
· Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
· Ability to analyze production data and make informed decisions
· Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow
