Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Facility Maintenance Technician / Boiler Operator to join our maintenance team. This position is responsible for the safe operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial boilers and facility equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, experience with preventive maintenance programs, and the ability to respond quickly to equipment issues to minimize downtime.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and maintain industrial boilers and related systems.
• Perform routine inspections of boilers, pumps, compressors, valves, piping, and other mechanical equipment.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair boiler malfunctions and mechanical failures.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on facility equipment.
• Repair or replace motors, bearings, belts, pumps, valves, and other mechanical components.
• Inspect steam, condensate, and water treatment systems for proper operation.
• Monitor boiler pressure, temperature, water levels, and chemical treatment systems.
• Maintain HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building systems as needed.
• Read and interpret blueprints, equipment manuals, and technical schematics.
• Document maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections accurately.
• Respond to emergency maintenance calls and equipment breakdowns.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and all safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Assist with facility improvement projects and equipment installations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of facility maintenance experience.
• Strong experience operating, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial boilers is required.
• Experience with preventive maintenance programs.
• Mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting experience.
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
• Basic computer skills for maintenance documentation.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

• Boiler Operator License or Certification (preferred but not required, depending on state regulations).
• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Knowledge of water treatment systems.
• Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).

Physical Requirements

• Frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
• Comfortable working in hot, noisy, and industrial environments.
• Ability to work at heights when necessary.
