Apartment Maintenance Technician

Location: Longview, TX
Pay: Starting at $18.00/hr.
Schedule: Monday–Wednesday (maybe Thursday), 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable and skilled Apartment Maintenance Technician to join a local apartment community in Longview, TX. This position is responsible for maintaining the property's appearance, functionality, and safety through timely repairs, preventative maintenance, and apartment turn services. The ideal candidate can work independently, troubleshoot maintenance issues, and provide excellent customer service when interacting with residents and staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Perform general maintenance and repairs for apartment units and community facilities.
Troubleshoot and repair plumbing and electrical issues.
Complete painting, drywall repairs, and other interior maintenance tasks.
Maintain the exterior appearance of the property through routine upkeep and repairs.
Respond to resident maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
Communicate effectively with tenants regarding repair schedules and maintenance needs.
Prepare vacant units for new residents, ensuring apartments are clean, functional, and move-in ready.
Follow all safety procedures and company policies while performing maintenance work.
Assist with other maintenance-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Previous apartment maintenance, property maintenance, or related experience preferred.
Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, painting, and drywall repair.
Ability to diagnose and resolve maintenance issues independently.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull maintenance equipment and supplies.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and climb for extended periods.
Able to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
