Warehouse Associate (Distribution) – Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented TEMPORARY Warehouse Associate to support operations within a fast-paced food distribution environment. This role is responsible for preparing and organizing products for delivery, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring efficient warehouse workflow.

Key Responsibilities

• Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders accurately for shipment
• Load and unload delivery trucks and stage products for outgoing routes
• Build pallets and organize product for safe, efficient transport
• Maintain accurate inventory counts and report discrepancies
• Assist with receiving incoming shipments and verifying product quality
• Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts (if trained)
• Perform routine safety checks on equipment and follow all safety protocols
• Maintain a clean, organized warehouse environment
• Complete basic documentation (inventory logs, shipping paperwork, etc.)
• Work closely with supervisors and team members to meet daily productivity goals

Work Environment & Schedule

• Fast-paced, physical warehouse setting
• Early morning or daytime shifts; schedule may vary based on business needs
• Full-time hours with potential overtime
• Frequent lifting, standing, bending, and walking throughout the shift

Qualifications

• Previous warehouse, distribution, or logistics experience preferred
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Basic math and recordkeeping skills
• Ability to follow safety procedures and operational guidelines

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 40–50 lbs regularly
• Stand and move for extended periods
• Perform repetitive tasks including lifting, bending, and reaching

Preferred Skills

• Experience with palletizing and order selection
• Familiarity with inventory systems or handheld scanners
• Forklift or pallet jack experience (certification a plus)
