Assembler (Mechanical Assembly)

Location: Union County, NJ
Schedule: Monday - Friday | Full-Time | Overtime Available

Job Summary

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a dependable Mechanical Assembler for a growing industrial manufacturer in Union County, NJ. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, has experience using hand and power tools, and takes pride in building quality products.

The ideal candidate will be mechanically inclined, able to follow assembly instructions, and comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical components and finished products according to work instructions and blueprints

• Use hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and other assembly equipment

• Read and interpret assembly drawings, schematics, and work orders

• Inspect parts for quality before and after assembly

• Perform basic mechanical adjustments as needed

• Ensure all assemblies meet quality and production standards

• Maintain an organized and safe work area

• Report material shortages, equipment issues, or quality concerns to supervisors

• Assist with packaging and preparing completed products for shipment

• Follow all company safety procedures and manufacturing guidelines

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of mechanical assembly or manufacturing experience preferred

• Ability to read blueprints or assembly drawings

• Experience using hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments

• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Good attendance and a strong work ethic

• High school diploma or GED preferred

Preferred Qualifications

• Manufacturing or industrial assembly experience

• Experience with electrical or mechanical components

• Forklift experience is a plus

• Ability to use calipers, tape measures, and other precision measuring tools

• Experience working in a fast-paced production environment

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds throughout the shift

• Stand, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods

• Perform repetitive assembly tasks while maintaining quality standards

• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment
