Bilingual Service Technician - Delivery Driver

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Training Requirement: For the first 30 days, candidates must be available to work Saturdays from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM. During those weeks, employees may either arrive one hour late or leave one hour early on a weekday.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Bilingual Service Technician (English/Spanish) to join a growing team that specializes in the assembly, delivery, repair, maintenance, and installation of mobility and medical equipment.

Products serviced include:

  • Wheelchairs
  • Respiratory equipment
  • Vehicle lifts
  • Ceiling lifts
  • Valet seats
  • Vertical platform lifts
  • Wheelchair ramps
  • Elevators
  • Vehicle hand controls
  • Home medical equipment

This role is ideal for someone with mechanical aptitude, repair experience, excellent customer service skills, and a desire to make a positive impact on the lives of others. Most work is performed in the office and shop, but occasional service calls and deliveries to customers' homes may be required.

Full training is provided.

Responsibilities

Equipment Assembly & Installation

  • Assemble equipment and prepare products for delivery.
  • Pull inventory and equipment from the warehouse.
  • Install and modify mobility and medical equipment as required.
  • Ensure equipment is functioning properly before delivery.

Troubleshooting & Repairs

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and modify customer equipment.
  • Inspect malfunctioning equipment and determine necessary repairs.
  • Prepare repair estimates and communicate recommendations to customers.
  • Use electronic testing equipment, including digital multimeters.
  • Complete routine maintenance and manufacturer-required service.

Maintenance & Quality Assurance

  • Inspect incoming rental equipment for damage and maintenance needs.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on wheelchairs, beds, lifts, and other equipment.
  • Maintain accurate service records, serial numbers, warranty information, and repair documentation.
  • Verify all equipment is clean, safe, and functioning properly before delivery.

Shipping, Receiving & Inventory

  • Receive incoming shipments and verify accuracy.
  • Maintain inventory of repair parts and supplies.
  • Assist with inventory counts and warehouse organization.
  • Process parts orders and maintain inventory records.

Customer Service

  • Provide compassionate, professional service to customers and caregivers.
  • Answer customer questions regarding equipment operation and repairs.
  • Resolve customer concerns professionally and efficiently.
  • Communicate clearly with patients, family members, healthcare providers, and coworkers.

Deliveries

  • Perform local deliveries using a company vehicle.
  • Load and unload equipment safely.
  • Install and demonstrate equipment at customer locations when needed.

Qualifications

  • Bilingual English/Spanish required (read, write, and speak).
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in repairs, mechanical work, customer service, delivery, or related field.
  • Excellent driving record.
  • Basic computer skills, including:
    • Email
    • Viewing purchase orders
    • Accessing delivery schedules
    • Basic data entry
    • Answering phones
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to take measurements and perform basic calculations accurately.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with electronics troubleshooting and repair.
  • Formal electronics training.
  • Home Medical Equipment (HME) or Durable Medical Equipment (DME) experience.
  • Knowledge of shop tools such as:
    • Drill press
    • Grinder
    • Hand and power tools
  • Minor welding experience.
  • Experience with inventory, warehouse, shipping, or receiving operations.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 55 pounds.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching.
  • Ability to stand, sit, drive, and work for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures, including hot and cold environments.
  • Strong hand dexterity for detailed mechanical and electronic repairs.
