Salary: $45,000 per year
Schedule: Full-Time Exempt Position (36.5 Hours Per Week)
A respected nonprofit organization is seeking an energetic and relationship-focused Membership Engagement Coordinator to support community outreach, membership growth, and volunteer recruitment efforts throughout the assigned territory.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, connecting with schools and community organizations, organizing recruitment events, and helping individuals discover opportunities to get involved in a meaningful mission. The Membership Engagement Coordinator will spend time working within the community, remotely from home, and occasionally from a shared office location.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, organized, comfortable working independently, and passionate about community engagement and relationship building.
Responsibilities
- Recruit new members and volunteers throughout the assigned territory
- Develop and maintain relationships with schools, community organizations, businesses, and local leaders
- Plan, coordinate, and attend recruitment events and community outreach activities
- Represent the organization at schools, community functions, fairs, and public events
- Conduct presentations and informational meetings for prospective members, families, and volunteers
- Track recruitment efforts and maintain accurate records of contacts, leads, and participation
- Collaborate with internal team members to achieve membership growth goals
- Support volunteer engagement and retention initiatives
- Utilize technology and communication tools to manage outreach activities and reporting
- Maintain regular communication with community partners and stakeholders
- Assist with special projects and organizational initiatives as assigned
Work Environment
This position offers a flexible work structure that includes:
- Working within an assigned community territory
- Remote work from home
- Shared office space with team members as needed
- Frequent travel throughout the assigned territory
- Attendance at evening and weekend events throughout the year
This role requires flexibility, particularly during peak recruitment seasons when community events and outreach activities increase.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in recruiting, sales, community outreach, membership development, fundraising, marketing, customer service, education, or nonprofit engagement preferred
- Strong relationship-building and networking skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Comfortable speaking to groups and representing an organization in public settings
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general technology tools
- Ability to maintain accurate records and reports
- Professional and positive demeanor
