The primary purpose of this position is to be responsible for the day-to-day activities in the manufacturing plant as it pertains to product formulations and optimization, environmental, chemical communication, SOP creation review and maintenance, shared ISO 9001 & GMP compliance and administrative functions. This position is also responsible for the creation and introduction of new products review and optimization of current products and oversee processes PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES§ Assure departmental compliance to Company SOP’s and Good Manufacturing Practices.§ Responsible for maintaining, documenting and enhancing the company’s ISO: 9001:2015 certification as it relatesto chemical production.§ Responsible for maintaining, creating, training and enhancing the company’s SOPs.§ Suggest process changes to improve production efficiency.§ Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities for current formulations.§ Facilitate the development and introduction of new products.§ Provide sales support for new opportunities.§ Works with production and ISO team to ensure safety, regulatory, and compliance training is conducted to meetcompany and Regulatory agency requirements as it relates to chemical engineering.§ Active team member to help support any long-term growth strategies.§ Uphold Company Standard of Excellence through a continuous commitment to maintain quality facilities andequipment and provide quality products and services to internal and external customers.§ Provide quality assurance procedures and develop and oversee the necessary documentation.§ Establish and maintain environmental sustainability practices and guidelines.§ Perform all duties outlined in relevant SOPs and all other duties to be assigned.SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES§ Support the overall Strategic Plan effort and goals for the entire facility, cost reduction, quality, etc.§ Project development and management.§ Chemical Engineering and management§ Develop new and enhance existing product SOPs, as needed.§ Works with other staff members to maintain workload balances. Provides back-up support as necessary.§ Supports effective communication with all Pacific Sands key personnel where responsibilities overlap to ensuresuccess of the team.REPORTING STRUCTURE§ This position reports to the President & CEOEXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL CRITERIA§ A bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred or a minimum of 5 years’ experience in chemical engineering andmanufacturing.§ Prior FDA/EPA product manufacturing experience required.§ Must have communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to read, write, and speak English.
