The Assembler / Fabricator plays a key role in building high‑quality industrial pump systems and components. You’ll assemble machines and subassemblies, fabricate metal structures, and ensure all products meet our client's quality standards. This role involves hands‑on mechanical work, blueprint reading, and the use of various tools and equipment.
Advancement opportunities include: Junior Assembler, Assembler, Assembler/Fabricator, Senior Assembler/Fabricator, Lead Assembler/Fabricator.
Blueprint Reading — Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and instructions.
Pump Assembly — Plan and execute assembly procedures according to SOPs.
Mechanical Installation — Install shafts, bearings, levers, and other moving parts; verify proper movement.
Metal Fabrication — Cut, weld, grind, and shape metal to build baseplates, guards, and structural components.
Precision Alignment — Align gears, couplings, and subassemblies to tight tolerances.
Machining Tasks — Drill, tap, ream, and fasten components using bolts, screws, and rivets.
Troubleshooting — Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues during assembly.
Tool Operation — Safely operate hand tools, machine tools, forklifts, and overhead cranes.
Product Testing — Assist in testing completed equipment for proper operation.
Quality Assurance — Inspect parts and assemblies to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Service Support — Perform in‑house service work on company products.
Event Preparation — Prepare equipment for customer visits and trade shows.
Safety Compliance — Follow all corporate policies and OSHA safety requirements.
Other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED required; 3–5 years of related mechanical or fabrication experience preferred.
Computer Skills: Basic computer proficiency.
Communication: Ability to read instructions, write simple correspondence, and communicate effectively with team members and customers.
Reasoning Ability: Apply common‑sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions and solve routine problems.
Technical Skills:
Proficient with hand and machine tools
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Forklift experience preferred
Regular standing and frequent walking
Occasional bending, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs
Work may involve exposure to mechanical parts, fumes, and moderate noise
This role is performed in a manufacturing environment with moderate noise and occasional exposure to solvents and moving mechanical components.
