Paralegal – Litigation & Business Law

Location: Salem, OR

PAY: $29.81 - $43.27 per hour (DOE)

Schedule: Monday – Friday, Full-Time

Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced Paralegal for a respected Salem law firm specializing in Litigation and Business Law. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of legal matters, including civil litigation, contracts, business transactions, real estate matters, dispute resolution, and corporate support. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and client service.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide legal and administrative support to attorneys and legal staff
• Draft, review, and format pleadings, correspondence, contracts, discovery responses, and other legal documents
• Prepare and file documents in state and federal courts, including electronic filings
• Manage case files, calendars, deadlines, and task lists to ensure matters move forward efficiently
• Coordinate communications with clients, courts, opposing counsel, experts, vendors, and other third parties
• Assist with discovery, document collection, organization, and production
• Support attorneys during hearings, mediations, depositions, trials, closings, and other legal proceedings
• Maintain accurate records and provide high-level client support

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Paralegal, Legal Assistant, or Legal Secretary required
• Experience in litigation, business law, real estate, creditor rights, or related practice areas preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced legal environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management software
• Strong professional judgment, initiative, and attention to detail
• Paralegal certificate, degree, or equivalent experience preferred
