General Laborer – Construction

Location: Union County, NJ
Pay: $22.00 per hour (Based on Experience)
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday - Friday | Overtime Available

Job Overview

Express Employment Professionals is seeking dependable and hardworking General Laborers for construction projects throughout Union County, NJ. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, have experience with construction or physical labor, and are looking for steady, full-time employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist skilled tradespeople with various construction projects

• Load, unload, and transport construction materials and equipment

• Operate hand tools and power tools safely

• Perform demolition, site cleanup, and debris removal

• Dig trenches and assist with excavation work

• Assemble and disassemble temporary structures, barricades, and scaffolding when needed

• Prepare job sites before work begins and maintain a clean, organized work area

• Lift and move heavy materials throughout the workday

• Follow all OSHA and company safety guidelines

• Complete additional duties as assigned by supervisors

Qualifications

• Previous construction or general labor experience preferred

• Ability to lift 50-75 pounds repeatedly

• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions

• Experience using basic hand and power tools

• Strong work ethic with excellent attendance

• Reliable transportation to job sites

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Willingness to work overtime when available

Preferred Qualifications

• OSHA 10 Certification

• Forklift experience

• Valid Driver's License

• Experience in commercial or residential construction

• Ability to read a tape measure

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus

Physical Requirements

• Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 75 pounds

• Stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and squat for extended periods

• Work safely around construction equipment and machinery

• Ability to work outdoors in hot, cold, dusty, or wet conditions
