CPA / Accountant Job Description

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced CPA/Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial reports, ensuring compliance with accounting regulations, and assisting with tax preparation and planning. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Maintain general ledger accounts and reconcile bank statements.
  • Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
  • Conduct account reconciliations and identify discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable tax laws and regulations.
  • Prepare financial reports and present findings to management.
  • Assist with audits and coordinate with external auditors.
  • Monitor cash flow and recommend process improvements.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
  • Provide financial guidance and support to management as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred or required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, tax regulations, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Public accounting experience.
  • Tax preparation and planning experience for individuals and businesses.
  • Experience with payroll processing and financial statement preparation.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and advanced Excel functions.
