Bookkeeper / Accounting Specialist

 

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Accounting Specialist to support the daily financial operations of our rental division. This position is responsible for assisting with accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger activities, reconciliations, and a variety of accounting-related functions.

The ideal candidate will have strong QuickBooks experience, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and integrity.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Bookkeeping

  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Perform account and bank reconciliations.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end accounting activities.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
  • Support daily accounting operations and reporting requirements.

Rental Division Support

  • Issue and track rental license plates for company equipment.
  • Maintain accurate mileage logs and related documentation.
  • Ensure records are updated and maintained according to company procedures.
  • Support administrative functions related to rental operations.

Administrative & Financial Support

  • Enter financial data into QuickBooks and other accounting systems.
  • Assist with reporting, documentation, and record management.
  • Communicate effectively with team members regarding financial information and account activity.
  • Perform additional accounting and office support duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of hands-on QuickBooks experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of:
    • Accounts Payable
    • Accounts Receivable
    • General Ledger Accounting
    • Bank Reconciliations
    • General Accounting Principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience in equipment rental, service, construction, or related industries is a plus.
