Yard Manager | $75,000-$100,000

Located in Fargo, ND

• Production Oversight: Lead daily operations within the yard, ensuring PVC pipe extrusion lines operate efficiently while maintaining safety and quality standards.
• Staff Planning: Develop and manage staffing and production schedules to align with output goals and safety protocols.
• Material Management: Oversee bulk material handling processes, ensuring consistent quality and availability of materials for production.
• Performance Monitoring: Track production metrics, analyze performance data, and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
• Troubleshooting: Collaborate with maintenance and quality assurance teams to swiftly address and resolve operational issues.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations (e.g., OSHA) and maintain product quality standards.
• Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor yard personnel, fostering their development and managing performance effectively.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, engineering, operations, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Experience:
• Minimum of 5 years in manufacturing or process operations.
• At least 3 years in a supervisory role, preferably within a plastic extrusion or similar environment.
• Skills:
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, particularly in PVC extrusion and material handling.
• Proficient in troubleshooting production equipment and processes.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Working Conditions

• Environment: Combination of office and yard settings, requiring regular presence on the production floor.
• Physical Demands: Ability to stand for long periods, climb stairs, bend, and lift items up to 25 pounds.
• Availability: Must support 24/7 operations, including after-hours and weekend coverage when necessary. Shifts are generally 12 hours.
