Job Summary

Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced Welder/Fabricator to join a growing custom fabrication team.

This is not repetitive production welding. Because the shop specializes in custom projects, you will rarely work on the same thing twice. This is a hands-on position where you will actively participate in the entire fabrication process—from material preparation and layout to welding and final assembly.

Job Duties

Perform high-quality MIG welding on structural steel and custom fabricated components
Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and weld symbols
Operate fabrication equipment including:
- Band saws
- Plasma cutters
- Grinders
- Torches
Measure, layout, fit, and assemble components prior to welding
Assist with material handling and movement of steel and fabricated products throughout the shop
Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
Follow all company safety policies and procedures
Perform other duties as assigned

Pay: $24/hr for welder with experience

Qualifications

Required:

Proven MIG/GMAW welding experience
Experience in structural welding, custom fabrication, or a job-shop environment
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and weld symbols
Experience operating fabrication equipment such as band saws, plasma cutters, grinders, and torches
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
Good communication skills and ability to work well with a team
Commitment to workplace safety

Preferred:

Structural steel fabrication experience
Experience with custom or one-off fabrication projects

Production welding experience may be considered for candidates with exceptional work history and demonstrated job longevity.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and handle steel materials and fabricated components
Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and kneel throughout the shift
Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures
