CNC Machinist

OVERVIEW

The CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating CNC and manual machining equipment to produce high-quality metal components. Duties include machining, program adjustments, inspections, troubleshooting, and maintaining production schedules while following all safety and quality standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Set up and operate CNC and manual machining equipment.
• Edit programs and make machine offsets as needed.
• Read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
• Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools.
• Run multiple machines while maintaining quality and productivity.
• Fabricate fixtures and troubleshoot machining issues.
• Record production data and complete quality documentation.
• Maintain equipment, housekeeping, and workplace safety.
• Train and assist less experienced team members as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or GED required; CNC Machining degree preferred.
• 3–5 years of CNC machining experience.
• Experience with CNC programming and setup; GibbsCAM experience preferred.
