We have an opening for a Fitter Welder position working at a contract manufacturing facility located in Decatur, AL. This is an evaluation-to-hire opportunity with potential for full-time placement.
*** CANDIDATES MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A WELDING TEST ***
Skills/Qualifications
Must be proficient in MIG welding techniques.
Minimum of two years of fitter tacking experience.
Must be proficient in reading blueprints and understanding weld symbols.
Must be able to perform visual inspection and dimensional inspection using basic measuring tools.
Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Consistent and timely attendance.
Must have a working command of the English language and be able to communicate orally and in writing.
Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Ability to perform essential duties.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Duties/Responsibilities
Read and interpret blueprints to determine the specific welding requirements.
Lay out, position, align and fit components together according to blueprints, written and verbal instructions.
Bolt, clamp, and tack-weld parts to secure in position for final welding.
Use a variety of hand and power tools as needed.
Comply with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions.
Update computer records and paperwork in accordance with production requirements.
Strictly follow safety protocols, including wearing proper PPE.
Maintain work area in a clean, orderly condition.
Perform all other duties, as assigned.
