Generator Mechanic – Express Employment Professionals (Tulsa, OK)

Location: 4316 S Peoria Ave, Tulsa, OK Pay: $24+ per hour, DOE (paid weekly)

 

Position Overview

Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced Generator Mechanic to join a Tulsa-based team specializing in the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of commercial and industrial power generation equipment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in hands-on technical work, understands engine systems, and can diagnose issues with precision and confidence.

 
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Generator Maintenance — Perform routine service, inspections, and preventative maintenance on diesel and gas-powered generators.

  • Diagnostics & Troubleshooting — Identify mechanical, electrical, and fuel-system issues using diagnostic tools and technical manuals.

  • Repairs & Overhauls — Repair or replace components including alternators, voltage regulators, wiring, fuel systems, and engine parts.

  • Load Testing — Conduct load bank testing to ensure proper generator performance and reliability.

  • Documentation — Complete service reports, maintenance logs, and parts usage records accurately.

 

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Mechanical Aptitude with diesel or gas engines

  • Experience working with power generation equipment

  • Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and service manuals

  • Strong understanding of electrical systems and safety procedures

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in varying environments

 

Preferred Experience

  • Prior work as a Generator Technician, Diesel Mechanic, or Industrial Maintenance Tech

  • Familiarity with brands such as Cummins, Generac, Kohler, or CAT

  • Certifications in EGSA, diesel technology, or electrical systems (not required but a plus)

 

Schedule & Compensation

  • Full-time position

  • Weekly pay through Express Employment Professionals

  • $24+ per hour, depending on experience

  • Opportunities for overtime and long-term placement
