Express Employment Professionals is partnering with a respected local manufacturer to recruit a Structural Engineer I (EIT) for a direct-hire opportunity. This position is ideal for a recent Civil Engineering graduate or an engineer with up to three years of experience who is looking to build a career in structural and precast concrete design while working alongside experienced licensed engineers.

Position Summary

The Structural Engineer I assists in the design, analysis, detailing, and production of structural precast concrete systems used in commercial buildings, parking structures, industrial facilities, and bridges. This role provides valuable hands-on experience and professional development opportunities toward obtaining Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist with structural analysis and design of precast concrete wall panels, beams, columns, floor planks, Double Tees, Quad Tees, and bridge components.
• Prepare engineering calculations under the supervision of licensed engineers.
• Develop erection and fabrication drawings using CAD and BIM software.
• Review architectural, structural, and contract documents.
• Assist with the design of prestressed and post-tensioned concrete members.
• Coordinate with project managers, detailers, production personnel, and field crews.
• Review shop drawings and production documents for accuracy.
• Perform field visits and site observations as needed.
• Support engineering staff during project meetings.
• Assist with product development and standardization initiatives.
• Maintain engineering records and project documentation.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes and industry standards.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural Engineering emphasis.

Certifications

• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred, or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.

Experience

• 0–3 years of structural engineering experience.

Technical Skills

• AutoCAD
• Revit (preferred)
• RISA, RAM, ETABS, SAP2000, or similar structural analysis software
• Microsoft Office Suite
