Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive diagnostics using advanced automotive electrical systems, schematics, and diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately.
  • Repair and overhaul powertrain components, including diesel engines, transmissions, and drivetrains, ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications.
  • Conduct precise vehicle maintenance tasks such as alignments, wheel balancing, and suspension repairs to optimize vehicle handling.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and specialized automotive repair tools to execute repairs efficiently and safely.
  • Interpret technical manuals and schematics to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical problems across various vehicle makes, including GM vehicles.
  • Lead vehicle inspections, auto body repairs, and safety checks while maintaining high standards of quality control.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior technicians, fostering a collaborative environment focused on continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all repairs meet safety regulations and industry standards while maintaining thorough documentation of work performed.
  • Stay current with industry trends such as ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) technology and emerging automotive repair techniques.

Experience

  • Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in dealership or independent auto repair environments.
  • Extensive knowledge of automotive diagnostics, electrical systems, powertrain components, and diesel engine repair.
  • Hands-on experience working with schematics, automotive electrical systems, and advanced diagnostic equipment.
  • Familiarity with automotive service procedures including wheel alignment, vehicle maintenance, welding, and auto body repair.
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical devices.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
  • Prior experience working on GM vehicles or similar brands is preferred but not required.
