Forklift Operator / Shipping & Receiving Coordinator (GDP)

Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
After 30 Days: Transition to 9-hour shifts and required Saturday work

 

Job Summary

 

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Forklift Operator / Shipping & Receiving Coordinator to support our GDP operations. This role is primarily responsible for loading and unloading trucks, staging completed units for shipping and processing and managing shipping and receiving documentation. The ideal candidate will have forklift experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Shipping & Receiving

  • Load completed GDP units onto outbound trucks safely and efficiently.
  • Unload incoming deliveries and verify materials against shipping documentation.
  • Stage completed units for shipment and processing.
  • Coordinate directly with delivery drivers regarding arrivals, departures, and shipment requirements.
  • Process shipping and receiving paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all required parts, components, and documentation accompany each shipment.
  • Verify correct ESO (Engineering Sales Order) numbers are assigned to the appropriate units and trucks before shipment.
  • Perform final shipment accuracy checks to prevent shipping errors.

Forklift & Material Handling

  • Operate a forklift to transport materials, parts, and finished products throughout the facility.
  • Move completed units from production areas to designated staging locations.
  • Store incoming materials and finished goods in designated locations.
  • Assist with inventory movement and material organization as needed.
  • Use hand scanners and inventory systems to track materials and maintain inventory accuracy.

Operational Support

  • Maintain organized shipping, receiving, and inventory records.
  • Support shipping schedules and ensure timely movement of products.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and forklift operating guidelines.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications

  • Previous forklift experience required.
  • Prior shipping, receiving, warehouse, or manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience with shipping documentation, bills of lading, packing slips, or inventory systems preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to verify order accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with drivers, warehouse personnel, and management.
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift for extended periods.
  • Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.

Work Environment

  • Fast-paced manufacturing and warehouse environment.
  • Frequent forklift operation throughout the shift.
  • Regular interaction with delivery drivers and shipping personnel.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Overtime may be required based on shipping and delivery schedules.
