Our client in Hiawatha, IA is currently seeking a Forklift / Warehouse Associate to join their team!
Position Summary
This position plays a key role in daily shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations to ensure accurate, efficient product flow. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and experienced in warehouse and forklift operations. Work boots are required while performing warehouse duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate daily warehouse shipping and receiving operations.
• Assemble, pull, and fill customer orders for shipment to customers and other company divisions.
• Accurately transfer product physically and logically into and out of warehouse locations.
• Load and unload trailers, common carriers, and company vehicles using powered industrial equipment.
• Move product throughout the facility using a sit-down forklift and other material-handling equipment.
• Inspect incoming materials for condition and quality before placement into inventory.
• Properly place received materials into designated warehouse locations.
• Utilize scanners and the Warehouse Management System (WMS) for order picking, inventory transactions, receiving, and material put-away.
• Gather completed orders and verify quantities, descriptions, condition, and nomenclature.
• Verify quantities and items being shipped against invoices and shipping documentation.
• Count and document total quantities of merchandise being shipped on invoices and shipping records.
• Process shipment paperwork, verify merchandise accuracy, apply correct shipping labels, and follow customer shipping instructions.
• Notify Purchasing and Sales when orders cannot be filled or inventory levels appear low.
• Complete cycle counts and inventory checks accurately and on time.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
• Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
• Cross-train and substitute for other warehouse personnel as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of one (1) year of warehouse and/or powered industrial lift experience required.
• Valid forklift certification with recent sit-down forklift experience required.
• Experience with receiving, kitting, shipping, order fulfillment, and inventory control.
• Familiarity with RF scanners and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the shift.
• Experience loading and unloading common carriers and company vehicles.
• Ability to read, perform basic mathematical calculations, and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Effective communication skills to work with co-workers and support customer requirements.
• Excellent attendance record required.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
Hours:
Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay:
$21/hour
