Express Employment is hiring a Small Engine Mechanic in Hattiesburg, MS!

Key Responsibilities

·         Diagnose, repair, and maintain small engines including lawn equipment, generators, chainsaws, and similar machinery.

·         Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tune-ups, filter replacements, and blade sharpening.

·         Inspect equipment to identify mechanical, electrical, or fuel system issues.

·         Disassemble, repair, and reassemble engine components using hand and power tools.

·         Test repaired equipment to ensure proper performance and safety standards.

·         Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and service work performed.

·         Order and manage parts inventory as needed for repairs and maintenance.

·         Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.

·         Communicate with customers or supervisors regarding repair needs and completion timelines.

·         Assist with general shop duties as assigned.

 

Skills & Qualifications

·         Previous experience repairing and maintaining small engines preferred.

·         Knowledge of gasoline-powered equipment such as lawnmowers, trimmers, chainsaws, generators, and similar machinery.

·         Ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and fuel system issues.

·         Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.

·         Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

·         Ability to read and interpret repair manuals and schematics.

·         Basic understanding of engine systems and mechanical principles.

·         Ability to lift, move, and work with heavy equipment as needed.

·         Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

·         Good communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
