Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Pay: $17.00/hour
Job Type: Full-Time, Evaluation Hire

Position Overview:
The Legal Assistant I will provide clerical and administrative support within a busy state office. This position will assist with preparing legal documents, handling phone calls and emails, managing calendars, scheduling hearings and depositions, uploading documents, and performing other office support duties.

 

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct administrative support to legal staff
• Prepare and process legal documents, subpoenas, and discovery disclosures
• Answer phones and respond to emails professionally
• Manage calendars and assist with scheduling hearings and depositions
• Upload, download, scan, and organize documents and media files
• Maintain accurate records and complete tasks in a timely manner
• Handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality
• Assist with additional clerical duties as needed

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Strong clerical and administrative skills
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and flexible
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to follow directions and work independently
• Must be able to handle sensitive situations professionally
• Legal terminology or legal office experience is a plus, but not required
