Mechanical Engineer I

Pay: $85,000–$120,000 annually (DOE)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Start Date: ASAP

 

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the design, fabrication, and repair of custom shell-and-tube heat exchangers and related engineered equipment. This role will be involved throughout the project lifecycle, from concept and design through manufacturing, ensuring customer requirements, industry standards, and project timelines are met.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Review customer specifications and develop designs that meet project requirements and applicable codes.
• Perform engineering calculations using Compress, RCS, and other design tools.
• Create bills of materials and coordinate manufacturing drawings with drafting teams.
• Apply ASME code requirements and engineering standards to heat exchanger and pressure vessel designs.
• Support fabrication processes, welding procedures, quality reviews, and customer documentation.
• Collaborate with estimating, manufacturing, and project teams on change orders, production support, and problem-solving.
• Evaluate and improve mechanical systems using principles of heat transfer, thermodynamics, materials, and mechanics.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• Experience with shell-and-tube heat exchangers, pressure vessels, or custom-engineered equipment preferred.
• Working knowledge of ASME Section VIII and IX codes.
• Familiarity with Compress, RCS, CAD software, and fabrication processes.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively with customers and cross-functional teams.
