Civil Estimator – Construction
Location: Fort Myers, FL
Schedule: Full-Time
Pay: $50,000 - $65,000+ annually, depending on experience

Express Employment Professionals is recruiting for a Civil Estimator on behalf of a well-established construction company in Fort Myers. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced estimator looking to join a growing organization that specializes in earthwork, site development, roadway construction, and infrastructure projects.

The ideal candidate will have experience estimating heavy civil construction projects, performing earthwork takeoffs, and reviewing construction plans and specifications. Experience with Agtek and estimating software such as Hard Dollar, HeavyBid, Timberline, or similar platforms is highly preferred.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Review plans, specifications, and bid documents to develop accurate project estimates

• Perform quantity takeoffs and cost analyses for earthwork, site development, and infrastructure projects

• Visit project sites and attend pre-bid meetings as needed

• Analyze project risks, costs, and potential challenges

• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing

• Prepare detailed estimates, budgets, and competitive bid proposals

• Develop forecasting reports and present findings to management

• Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and subcontractors

• Manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction, site development, or related projects

• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and bid packages

• Experience performing earthwork takeoffs

• Proficiency with Agtek or similar takeoff software preferred

• Experience with Hard Dollar, HCSS HeavyBid, Timberline, or comparable estimating software preferred

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Science, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
