Position Overview

Our client is an early-stage defense technology company that turns aluminum and water into electricity, lift, and potable water at the point of need. Their systems give defense operators and people living and working in remote regions resilient capabilities without fragile fuel logistics. The company is seeking a hands-on mechanical fabrication engineer/technician who can design, build, and take equipment to the field.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Fabricate, assemble, and integrate prototype mechanical hardware from drawings
• Construct field-deployable and mobile systems, including subsystem integration onto host platforms, test stands, trailers, vehicles, cases, and other field hardware.
• Fabricate mechanical parts and sub-systems using machining, welding, sheet metal, mechanical assembly, and practical fabrication methods.
• Support field testing for customers
• Help solve mechanical, packaging, routing, mounting, and field integration problems
• Document mechanical components and systems
• Work and collaborate efficiently with a small engineering team

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on mechanical fabrication or prototype integration experience
• Shop experience with machining, welding, fabrication and mechanical assembly
• Willingness and ability to travel for field work
• Experience with power generation and conversion equipment, pressure or fluid systems, test equipment, and ruggedized mechanical builds preferred
• Experience with product testing, and MIL or UL certification testing preferred
• HS Diploma or equivalent, Associates or Bachelors degree
