Professional Administrative Assistant
Located in York, PA
Salary: $17/hr
Hours: Monday through Friday. 8am-5pm.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Administrative Assistant provides clerical, administrative, and customer service support. This position assists command staff with scheduling, correspondence, records management, and general office operations to ensure efficient functioning of the Department. The Administrative Assistant reports directly to the Chief of Police or designee.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Serve as the primary point of contact for visitors and telephone inquiries, providing courteous and professional assistance
· Prepare and maintain correspondence, reports, and departmental records, including confidential personnel and investigative file
· Assist with scheduling, calendar management, and coordination of meetings or training events
· Assist Accreditation Manager in policy development, research, and planning in alignment with Pennsylvania Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission accreditation standards (PLEAC)
· Perform data entry and maintain records in police records management systems (RMS), ensuring accuracy and compliance with retention schedules
· Support all department administration processes by preparing forms, schedules, and documentation
· Uphold confidentiality and handle sensitive information in accordance with law and departmental policy
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Maintain office supplies, equipment, and inventory
· Participate in all Township Safety Committee meetings
· Plan and coordinate National Night Out and Pars4Paws Golf Tournament and any other future police events.
· Deliver necessary documents to District Justice Office, as needed
· Coordinate Police Right to Know requests with the Township Right to Know Officer
· Compile weekly reports for all current and completed activities to the Township Manager
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED required; preferred two years’ experience in business, criminal justice, or related field
