Quality Manager

Located in San Diego, CA

Salary: $95,000 - $135,000 annually

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead and oversee all quality assurance and quality control functions for a precision manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for maintaining quality systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards, managing audits, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aerospace, defense, or precision machining and possess proven leadership experience within a quality-focused organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the Quality Department, including inspectors and quality personnel
• Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS)
• Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, customer requirements, and applicable industry standards
• Plan and oversee internal, customer, and third-party audits
• Manage nonconformance investigations, corrective actions, and root cause analysis activities
• Develop and maintain quality procedures, inspection plans, and documentation
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and leadership teams to resolve quality concerns
• Monitor quality metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives
• Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of inspection and metrology equipment
• Support customer communications regarding quality requirements and documentation
• Maintain compliance with company policies and procedures

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of quality leadership experience in aerospace, defense, manufacturing, or precision machining environments
• Strong knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, and quality management systems
• Experience with GD&T, CMMs, metrology equipment, and inspection processes
• Proven leadership experience managing quality teams
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and root cause investigation skills
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
• Experience with non-destructive testing (NDT)
• Knowledge of metal finishing and heat treatment processes
• Understanding of CNC machining processes, tooling, fixtures, and work-holding systems
• Experience supporting a growing manufacturing organization

Additional Requirements:

• Must successfully pass a background check, drug screening, and reference check
• Must be authorized to work in the United States
