We are seeking a Validation Lab Technician - HVA  to support the testing, validation , and development of gas fireplaces and related products. This role is ideal for a hands on individual who enjoys solving technical challenges, working with innovative products, and contributing to success of a collaborative team.

 

As a key member of the product development team, you will play an important role in ensuring products meet performance safety, and regulatory requirements while helping bring new ideas from concept to market.

What You will do :

• Conduct performance, safety, environmental, electrical, and durability testing.
• Validate products to industry standards, including CSA Group and ANSI Z21.88 requirements.
• Collect, analyze and interpret test data
• Prepare technical reports and provide recommendations
• build and modify prototypes for testing and development
• Perform sheet metal fabrication and assembly work.
• Assist with troubleshooting and root-cause investigations
• Maintain laboratory equipment and calibration records
• Support certification testing with third-party agencies
• Mentor and assist junior technicians, co-op students and support staff

What You Will Bring 

 

• Mechanical Engineering Technology Diploma or related education 
• 5 + years of related technical experience
• Experience using testing and measurement equipment
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Strong technical writing and reporting skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
• Basic Solid works knowledge is considered an asset.

Preferred Qualifications 

• G2 or G3 Gas Technician License
• NFI Certification 
• Fabrication and welding experience
• Electrical troubleshooting experience
• Experience supporting product certification or regulatory approvals
