Lead Commercial Electrician Job Description

 

Job Summary

Lead Commercial Electrician will lead and perform electrical installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting on commercial construction and renovation projects. The ideal candidate will work side by side with field crews, ensure work is completed safely and efficiently, and maintain compliance with all applicable electrical codes.

Top Responsibilities

·         Communicate job status, progress, problems and accomplishments throughout the day in real time.

·         Lead and work alongside electrical crews, assign work, and ensure projects stay on schedule.

·         Install, troubleshoot, and oversee commercial electrical systems, equipment, and controls.

·         Ensure all work complies with NEC requirements, local codes, project specifications, and safety standards.

Additional Responsibilities

·         Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings.

·         Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and other trades.

·         Perform inspections and quality control reviews.

·         Train and mentor apprentices and junior electricians.

·         Manage materials, tools, and equipment.

·         Maintain project documentation and progress reports.

Qualifications

·         5+ years of commercial electrical experience with leadership responsibilities.

·         Journeyman or Master Electrician license preferred, as required by local regulations.

·         Strong knowledge of NEC codes and commercial electrical systems.

·         Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.

·         Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and leadership skills.

·         Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
