Duties
- Perform daily bookkeeping tasks including data entry, journal entries, and double-entry bookkeeping to ensure precise financial records.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and collections.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and balance sheets regularly to maintain accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Prepare financial statements, bank reconciliations, and account analyses in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Oversee payroll management using systems such as ADP, Paychex, Kronos, or UltiPro; ensure timely salary processing and compliance.
- Maintain detailed records of tax-related transactions and assist with tax preparation activities.
- Support internal controls by adhering to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance standards where applicable.
- Utilize various financial software tools including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, and others for efficient accounting operations.
- Assist with budgeting processes, financial reporting, and audit preparations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve accounting workflows and ensure data integrity.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in accounting or bookkeeping roles within corporate or governmental settings.
- Proven expertise in corporate accounting practices, governmental accounting standards, or non-profit accounting environments.
- Strong familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or similar platforms.
- Experience working with payroll systems like ADP or Paychex is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, account reconciliation, and general ledger management.
- Demonstrated ability to perform balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis accurately.
- Familiarity with tax regulations and experience handling accounts payable/receivable processes.
- Excellent math skills along with attention to detail for precise data entry and account analysis.
- Ability to interpret financial data confidently while maintaining confidentiality.
