                      Equipment Operator

 • Performs hazardous waste treatment in accordance with site guidance and safety procedures along with other fellow heavy equipment operators within the department
• Able to communicate well over a radio system to work with other departments on process flows and production needs
• Performs routine cleaning, spill cleanup, drum handling, trailer, roll off, and tanker offloading, sweeping and shoveling, high-pressure washing, and various other activities
• Performs general housekeeping, including basic maintenance of heavy equipment
• Can fill out all necessary paperwork compliantly and label waste (drums, totes, roll off boxes) appropriately (i.e. inventory sheets, area inspections, equipment pre-trip/post-trip inspections, work orders, etc.)
• Performs other related duties as assigned and able to follow instruction
Ideal candidate:
• Willing to be clean-shaven in order to wear a full-face respirator safely
• Willing to work out in the elements in a full hazmat suit, dusty/dirty environment
• Has warehouse forklift, pallet-jack, excavator, front-end loader, skid steer, roll off truck operating experience, and ability to use various hand and shop tools
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend documents such as (but not limited to) operational, technical, process, safety and quality instructions
• Understands the dangers of working with or around chemicals and able to read and understand safety data sheets to take the necessary steps required to mitigate those dangers
• Ability to pass 24-hour HAZWOPER Training upon hire
• Conducts themselves in a professional, courteous and cooperative manner toward customers and co-workers; works with a sense of honesty and trustworthiness
• Good time management skills to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed in an efficient and safe manner and the ability to adhere to work schedule and follows through on challenges as they arise
Pay is $19/hour.
