CDL A Driver – Des Moines, IA

Our client in Des Moines, IA is looking for a CDL A Driver with Air Brake Endorsement! This is a great opportunity for a safety-focused, dependable driver who enjoys being hands-on and is looking for a long-term career opportunity. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys driving but is also comfortable performing physical setup and delivery work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate a CDL A truck and wide-load trailers to deliver, relocate, and return portable buildings and storage units to customer locations
• Drive a 2025 Freightliner Cascadia automatic truck while maintaining excellent safety standards
• Complete delivery setup, leveling, and preparation of units for final customer hookups
• Secure loads using anchors, chains, and ratchet straps while following all transportation safety procedures
• Perform hands-on setup tasks including skirting, installing ramps/decks/stairs, and utilizing company-provided tools and equipment
• Provide excellent customer service while working with customers, contractors, sales teams, and branch personnel
• Maintain compliance with DOT requirements and company safety standards

Qualifications:

• CDL A license with Air Brake Endorsement required (1-2 years with wide load experience)
• Strong driving record required (ideally fewer than 1–2 points)
• Must have current DOT physical card and meet all DOT requirements
• Safety-minded driver with strong attendance and reliability
• Comfortable working independently and performing moderate-to-heavy physical labor
• Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and leveling equipment
• Strong communication skills and professionalism when interacting with customers and team members

Hours:

• Monday–Friday schedule with home nightly
• Local driving with occasional travel to surrounding areas and sister locations
• Overtime opportunities available, especially during peak season (March–September)
• Occasional overnight or weekend work may be required but is uncommon
• New hires may complete approximately one week of exposure training at a nearby sister location

Pay:

• Competitive pay based on experience $30-$35/hr
• $500 monthly safety driving bonus opportunity for maintaining excellent driving performance.
• Overtime opportunities available during busy season
