Salary: $112,700 - $169,100 Annually

Express Employment Professionals is seeking an Engineering Manager for a local Optics company.

Overview

The Engineering Manager supports production by setting direction and coordinating manufacturing and production design engineers to improve process efficiency, and introduce new products. 

Responsibilities

• Identifies and drives continuous improvement for manufacturing

• Responds to production product / process non-conformities, ensuring resources are allocated to support production technicians as part of issue escalation

• Leads the effort towards conducting root cause analysis and develops effective countermeasures

• Build and improve process around new product introduction coordination, including engineering and other support functions

• Represent engineering function in customer interactions, both for issue escalation of ongoing projects or new product opportunities

• Interacts with various departments that impact production and process issues improve productivity and quality

• Creates metrics to track process capability and improvement

Experience and Education Required

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering or related field or the equivalence in work experience.

• Eight or more years experience in the field of manufacturing. 

• Familiar with using statistical process control or similar methods.

• Three years direct engineering team leadership / supervision

• Lean Six Sigma certifications and use are preferred

• Read and understand a variety of job-related instructions and documents, including blueprints
