Position Summary

The Logistics Clerk I plays a key role in supporting daily warehouse and logistics operations through accurate data management, shipment documentation, and coordination with carriers and internal teams. This position helps ensure efficient supply chain operations by maintaining inventory records, processing shipping and receiving documentation, and resolving logistical discrepancies. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced warehouse and office environment.

Key Responsibilities

Data Management

  • Accurately track incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Verify inventory levels and maintain system accuracy through regular cycle counts and weekly inventory reviews.
  • Enter, update, and maintain data within warehouse management, ERP, and transportation systems.
  • Conduct routine audits to identify and resolve inventory or shipment discrepancies.

Documentation & Recordkeeping

  • Prepare and print Bills of Lading (BOLs).
  • Generate shipping, receiving, and inventory documentation.
  • Maintain organized and accurate records of shipments, transactions, and inventory activities.

Operational Support

  • Process product returns and coordinate vendor return shipments.
  • File and process damaged shipment claims.
  • Investigate and resolve shipping and receiving discrepancies.
  • Provide administrative support to warehouse and operations teams as needed.

Communication & Coordination

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for carriers and transportation providers.
  • Communicate shipment status, delays, and issues to internal stakeholders.
  • Update customers regarding pickup and delivery schedules.
  • Collaborate with warehouse personnel to ensure smooth daily operations.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree.
  • Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications and email.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Experience using ERP, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), or Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
  • Working knowledge of warehousing, logistics, and inventory control processes.
  • Familiarity with shipping documentation, freight operations, and carrier coordination.
