Job Title: Inventory Warehouse Associate (Receiving Focus)

Job Summary

The Inventory Warehouse Associate is responsible for receiving, inspecting, organizing, and maintaining inventory within the warehouse. This position plays a critical role in ensuring accurate stock levels, timely processing of incoming shipments, and efficient warehouse operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and experienced in receiving and inventory control processes.

 

Key Responsibilities

Receiving & Inspection

  • Receive incoming shipments and verify contents against purchase orders and packing slips
  • Inspect goods for damage, defects, or discrepancies and report any issues promptly
  • Accurately record received items into inventory systems
  • Label, tag, and properly store incoming products

Inventory Control

  • Maintain accurate inventory records and perform regular cycle counts
  • Assist with full physical inventory audits as required
  • Monitor inventory levels and notify supervisors of shortages or overstock
  • Ensure proper stock rotation (FIFO, LIFO as applicable)

Warehouse Organization

  • Store products in designated areas for easy retrieval and inventory accuracy
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment
  • Assist with rearranging warehouse layout to optimize space and efficiency

Shipping & General Warehouse Support

  • Assist in picking, packing, and preparing orders for shipment when needed
  • Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
  • Follow all company safety procedures and guidelines

 

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years of warehouse experience, preferably in receiving or inventory control
  • Basic knowledge of inventory management systems and data entry
  • Ability to read and interpret shipping documents (BOLs, packing slips, invoices)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

Preferred

  • Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) or ERP software
  • Previous experience in high-volume distribution environments
