Express Employment Professionals is currently recruiting for an Assistant Controller in the Wheeling, WV area.

We are seeking a detail-oriented accounting professional with strong financial reporting and leadership skills. This position offers the opportunity to work with an established organization and play a key role in supporting accounting operations, financial reporting, payroll, and month-end close activities.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
• Prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations
• Support month-end and year-end close processes
• Process and oversee payroll functions
• Assist with audits and provide supporting documentation
• Monitor general ledger activity and maintain accurate financial records
• Analyze financial data and prepare management reports
• Collaborate with leadership on process improvements and operational efficiencies
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• Previous accounting experience required
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting and general ledger accounting
• Experience with ERP/accounting software systems
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and time management abilities
