Diesel Mechanic

Express Employment is partnering with a company in East Tampa for a Diesel Mechanic/ Welder responsible for preventive maintenance, repairs, and fabrication work to keep fleet vehicles and equipment operating safely and efficiently. The role works closely with drivers and terminal management.

Key Duties

• Perform maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and terminal equipment.
• Develop and follow preventive maintenance schedules.
• Diagnose mechanical issues and complete repairs.
• Perform welding and fabrication as needed.
• Maintain parts inventory and order replacement components.
• Ensure equipment remains in safe operating condition.
• Complete additional maintenance-related duties assigned by management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Proven mechanical experience.
• Experience in diesel mechanics, welding, and fabrication.
• Basic computer skills.
• Stable work history.
• Associate degree or trade certification preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to work outdoors in Florida heat, humidity, and varying weather conditions.
• Frequent bending, reaching, climbing, and manual labor.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
