Industrial Painter / Coatings Technician

Pay: $21.00 – $24.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Position Summary

Industrial Painter / Coatings Technician

This role is responsible for preparing and applying industrial coatings to motors, components, fabricated parts, and assemblies. The position requires attention to detail, adherence to specifications, and consistent quality in a production environment.

Key Responsibilities

Industrial Painter / Coatings Technician

Prepare surfaces for coating by performing cleaning, sanding, masking, and grinding
Mix and apply primers, paints, and protective coatings based on work instructions and specifications
Operate spray equipment to coat parts while meeting required thickness, coverage, and finish standards
Review and follow job travelers, paint schedules, and technical data sheets
Ensure all work aligns with customer expectations and applicable coating standards, including MIL-SPEC when required
Inspect finished work to identify defects and confirm quality benchmarks are met
Maintain a clean and organized work area

Additional Duties

Industrial Painter / Coatings Technician

Assist with kitting, packaging, and crating as needed
Support general shop functions and team production goals

Qualifications

Industrial Painter / Coatings Technician

Experience with industrial painting or coatings preferred
Familiarity with MIL-SPEC or customer-specific coating requirements is a plus
Ability to recognize coating defects and correct issues
Comfortable using hand tools, spray equipment, and shop tools
Able to follow detailed instructions and technical documentation
Works well in a team-based manufacturing setting
Strong focus on safety practices
