Job Title: Payroll & Benefits Specialist

 

Position Summary: The Payroll & Benefits Specialist handles full-cycle bi-weekly payroll processing and employee benefits administration. This role ensures compliance with all regulations, maintains accurate data in Paychex Flex, and provides internal customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process bi-weekly payroll, calculate wages and deductions, manage garnishments, resolve timekeeping issues, and support year-end W-2 processes.

  • Manage employee benefit programs, handle enrollments and open enrollment, reconcile vendor invoices, and coordinate with insurance brokers.

  • Maintain accurate records, ensure tax compliance, submit timely filings, and prepare reports for audits.

  • Answer employee questions regarding pay, taxes, and benefits within 24–48 hours.

Performance Goals:

  • Maintain a 99.5% or higher payroll accuracy rate with 100% on-time processing.

  • Achieve 99% or higher accuracy for benefit enrollments and system data.

  • Ensure zero major regulatory compliance or audit issues.

  • Resolve employee inquiries within 2–3 business days.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of payroll tax laws and benefits administration.

  • Proficiency with Paychex Flex and advanced MS Excel skills.

  • Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and communication skills.
