A growing metals distribution company is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Forklift Operator / Delivery Driver to join their team. This position combines warehouse operations with local deliveries, making it ideal for someone who enjoys variety throughout the workday. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts, preparing customer orders, loading and unloading materials, and making local deliveries using a company vehicle.
Operate sit-down forklifts to safely move, load, and unload metal materials.
Pick, stage, and prepare customer orders for shipment or pickup.
Load delivery vehicles while ensuring materials are properly secured.
Perform local deliveries to customers throughout New Jersey and surrounding areas.
Verify deliveries against packing slips and obtain customer signatures when required.
Assist with shipping, receiving, inventory control, and warehouse organization.
Cut, package, and prepare metal products according to customer specifications.
Conduct daily inspections of forklifts and delivery vehicles.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA regulations.
Previous forklift operating experience required.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Experience making local deliveries preferred.
Shipping and receiving experience is a plus.
Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
Comfortable handling metal products and working in a warehouse environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Forklift certification.
Experience in metal distribution, steel service centers, industrial supply, or manufacturing environments.
Familiarity with inventory management systems and warehouse documentation.
