Upholstery Manager

Location: Dumas, AR
Pay: Based on Experience (DOE)
Schedule: Full-Time (Monday - Friday) 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM 

Job Summary

A local company in Dumas is seeking an experienced Upholstery Manager to oversee daily upholstery production operations and lead the department. This position is responsible for maintaining product quality, ensuring production schedules are met, training employees, and promoting a safe and efficient work environment. Candidates must have hands-on upholstery experience and the ability to train and assist team members on the upholstery line as needed.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily upholstery production activities and ensure schedules are completed on time.

• Maintain high-quality standards and address workmanship concerns.

• Train, coach, and cross-train employees to maximize productivity and efficiency.

• Assist with upholstery production and train new hires on proper techniques.

• Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to prevent shortages.

• Coordinate with Engineering and Plant Management on new product introductions and production requirements.

• Maintain an organized, safe, and efficient work environment.

• Promote professionalism, teamwork, and adherence to company policies.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence.

• Work closely with Quality and Human Resources on employee development and performance matters.

Qualifications

• Previous management experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

• Upholstery experience required.

• Ability to train and mentor employees.

• Knowledge of production processes and manufacturing equipment.

• Experience with lean manufacturing and process improvement practices is preferred.

• Familiarity with MRP systems and production scheduling is a plus.

• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
