Job Summary
The Facility Maintenance Specialist II (Industrial Maintenance Technician) is responsible for maintaining the operational integrity, safety, and efficiency of plant facilities, equipment, and infrastructure systems. This role performs advanced troubleshooting, diagnostics, repair, and preventive maintenance across electrical, mechanical, and facility systems in a fast-paced industrial environment.
This position requires a skilled, detail-oriented maintenance professional who can independently identify issues, execute repairs, and ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards. The Specialist works closely with maintenance teams, miner technicians, and leadership, utilizing MaintainX (CMMS) to document work orders and maintenance activities to support a safe, efficient, and compliant operation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Troubleshooting, Diagnostics, and Repairs (Electrical & Mechanical Systems)
- Collaborate with miner technicians to diagnose equipment and infrastructure issues and initiate work orders in MaintainX.
- Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repairs on infrastructure systems, including:
- Pumps
- Fans and ventilation systems
- Contactors and IO boards
- Bitcoin mining support systems
- Repair or replace worn or damaged components on heavy equipment (telehandlers, skid steers, scissor lifts).
- Complete general facility maintenance and repair tasks, including structural repairs, door and frame adjustments, and mechanical component replacement.
2. Preventive Maintenance & Equipment Reliability
- Execute scheduled preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment life, including:
- Visual inspections and condition assessments
- Thermal imaging and temperature monitoring
- Air filter replacement and ventilation system cleaning
- Equipment calibration and system adjustments
- Ensure all maintenance tasks are completed on schedule and according to standards.
3. CMMS Documentation & Reporting (MaintainX)
- Accurately document all maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs in MaintainX (CMMS).
- Create, update, and close work orders while providing status updates to Site Leadership.
- Identify and report recurring equipment issues to support root-cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
4. Inventory, Tools & Equipment Management
- Maintain organized inventory of tools, spare parts, and PPE (personal protective equipment).
- Conduct routine inspections of tools and safety equipment; remove defective items from service.
- Ensure all work areas remain clean, safe, and organized with proper labeling and storage.
5. Safety, Compliance & OSHA Standards
- Maintain strict adherence to OSHA regulations, lockout/tagout procedures, and company safety policies.
- Identify, correct, and report safety hazards and compliance issues in a timely manner.
- Promote a culture of workplace safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in facility maintenance, industrial maintenance, or mechanical repair.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills across electrical, mechanical, and structural systems.
- Experience using MaintainX or other CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools.
- Familiarity with bitcoin mining infrastructure is a plus (preferred).
- Knowledge of OSHA safety practices, including lockout/tagout procedures.
- Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment, tools, and components.
- Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying environmental conditions.
- Manual dexterity and precision required for technical repair and maintenance work.
