HVAC Service & Repair Technician

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour DOE
Location: Oxnard, CA (servicing Ventura County and surrounding Valley areas)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, with occasional weekend emergency service calls
Employment Type: Direct Hire or Temp-to-Hire

About the Opportunity

A well-established HVAC company is seeking a skilled HVAC Service & Repair Technician to join their growing team. This position focuses primarily on servicing and repairing commercial HVAC systems throughout Ventura County and the surrounding areas.

The ideal candidate will have strong HVAC and electrical troubleshooting skills, be comfortable working independently in the field, and take pride in delivering quality service to customers.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC systems and equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and control system issues.
• Service rooftop units, package units, split systems, and related equipment.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Communicate findings and repair recommendations to customers.
• Complete service reports and work documentation accurately.
• Maintain a safe work environment and follow company safety procedures.
• Participate in occasional after-hours or weekend emergency service calls.

Qualifications

• Completion of an HVAC Trade School Program required.
• Strong HVAC service and repair knowledge.
• Working knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting.
• Ability to diagnose equipment issues and determine effective solutions.
• Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to work independently and manage service calls efficiently.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience servicing commercial HVAC systems.
• EPA Certification preferred.
• Experience with rooftop units (RTUs), heat pumps, package units, and control systems.
• Familiarity with electrical diagnostics using meters and testing equipment.
• Candidates living in the Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley, or surrounding Valley areas are encouraged to apply.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to climb ladders and work on rooftops.
• Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and work in confined spaces.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to safely perform work at heights when required.
