Shop Labourer / Assembler

Join a dynamic team in the East End! Our client is seeking a skilled Shop Labourer / Assembler for a permanent, full-time opportunity. If you have a knack for precision and experience with machinery like saws, mills, and drill presses, we want to hear from you!

Required skills and qualifications:

• Prioritize safety in the workplace
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, including architectural plans and shop drawings
• Experience with machine operation and setup (saws, milling machines, drill presses, lathes, sharpers, routers, sanders planers and wood-fastening machines)
• Proficient in using measuring tools (imperial and metric) such as calipers, tapes, and levels
• Strong work history and reliability
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50lbs repeatedly

Duties may include but are not limited to:

• Correctly select and operate machinery and tools as required
• Maintain machinery, tools, and the workstation in good working condition
• Ensure products meet quality standards and project specifications, making adjustments as needed
• Handle medium‑to‑heavy materials on an intermittent basis
• Follow all safety protocols at all times
• Troubleshoot non‑operational machinery when necessary
• Identify and report any potential hazards in the workplace
• Cross‑train in various departments and provide support as needed
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and the team leader
• Lift up to 50 lbs (with assistance if required); may work in hot areas at times
• Adhere to all Health and Safety requirements and actively participate in 5S activities within the work area
• Perform other duties as assigned

Wage: $23.00 per hour
