Now Hiring: 1st Shift Waste Handling Technician  – $18.00+/Hour | Full-Time | Plainwell, MI

 

An environmental services company who partners with a variety of business in the local area is looking for a reliable candidate to join their team as a Waste Handling Technician. This is an entry-level position and a great opportunity for individuals who are looking for a chance to work with a tight knit team, optional overtime, and room to grow and develop in the environmental services field! 

Pay & Shift:

  • Hourly Pay: $18.00/hr on 1st

  • Schedule: 1st shift: Monday - Friday 6:00am-2:30pm

  • Job Type: Full-Time, Contract-to-Hire

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate various equipment including: industrial shredder, extractor, compacter, aerosol puncture device and drum washer 

  • Sort non-hazardous waste such as batteries, light bulbs and household paint
  • De-package and sort consumer product
  • Load/unload trucks using hand and barrel carts
  • Participate in Household Hazardous Waste Collections at customer sites as needed

Requirements:

  • Comfortable wearing PPE such as respirators, sleeves, steel or composite toed shoes, chemical resistant suit, gloves and safety glasses
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs throughout a shift 
  • High school diploma or GED required
