Day Support Activities

Monday -Friday 8:30am-3:30pm $16.50/HR (overtime and weekends may be required)

This position assists in coordinating and supervising activities in the DSA program, and to inspire greatness.

  • Assure a high quality of services are provided to our participants.
  • Participating in transportation duties
  • Assist individuals with disabilities to acquire and develop those skills, behaviors, attitudes, and personal characteristics that will assist them to work, grow, and belong.
  • Provide peri-care for all individuals as needed.
  • Assist supervisor and/or DSA Lead or in providing case management of program participants as directed. This would include goal setting and training that would maximize their potential.
  • Provide support and assistance to supervisors, other DSPs, Services Coordinators, participants, volunteers, and all other staff in the DSA programs.
  • Comply with all applicable federal, state, and local rules and regulations.
  • Do not exceed responsibility/authority that has been delegated by supervisor.
  • Perform job and exhibit good judgment in situations not specifically covered by agency policy and/or procedures.
  • Complete training requirements assigned by department within given deadline.
  • Learn new skills/methods and perform duties as requested by the supervisor in appropriate time frame.
  • Report any incidents of neglect, abuse, emergencies or problems to the supervisor and/or appropriate person per policy.
  • Help develop, implement, and monitor Individual Support Plans (ISPs).
  • Help to maintain and monitor agency records and case files in a professional manner consistent with prescribed guidelines and expectations, e.g. organize, collect data, monitor documentation of participants’ time off requests, case notes, ISPs, time records, and additional information required.
  • Keep relationships with clients professional and limited to work settings and supports. Notify your supervisor of any conflicts of interest due to preexisting relationships with trainees.
  • Submit time sheets and other required documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Attend and participate in required meetings, training, and committees.
  • Maintain a safe work environment.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED preferred.
  • One year’s experience working with adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities is preferred but not required (training is provided).
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Positive work ethics, including punctuality, dependability, task completion able to meet deadlines and balance multiple tasks and relationships.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office products required.
  • Must have proven, stable employment history.
  • Strong organizational skills. Strong verbal, written, open, collaborative, and solutions-oriented communication and teamwork skills.
  • Valid Oregon driver’s license and must be insured by insurance carrier.
  • Proficiency with electronic documentation systems (e.g., SetWorks) preferred.
  • Able to work with limited supervision, displaying initiative and creativity in the workplace.
  • Attention to detail, to create documents for reporting purposes.
  • Must be able to pass criminal history checks and drug screen including THC.

Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid Certification

Must be physically able to assist program participants, including assisted lifting, transfer, and hygiene/personal care if needed. Walking, sitting, stooping, bending, and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. Driving and transporting trainees and program participants. Ability to multitask and
