What You Get to Do!
This position is responsible for planning and directing software engineering activities. Ensures software projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with the organization's established policies and objectives. Oversees the design, development, deployment, operation, application, and maintenance of software products and systems. Familiar with a large variety of software development concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and complex tasks without direct supervision. Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others.
• Combine strong technical expertise with effective people management skills.
• Lead teams in delivering multiple interdependent projects
• Collaborate with your team and cross-functional partners to define and influence strategic direction.
• Participate in the creation and lead the execution of the project roadmaps.
• Engage with various functions to drive engineering initiatives and make a significant impact.
• Participate in technical design efforts.
• Ensure the maintenance of high coding standards and best practices within the team.
• Measure your team's impact and set clear expectations and goals.
• Partner with leadership to influence and drive organizational design, contribution, and prioritization.
• Directly supervises employees in the Software Engineering Group. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
What You Will Bring…
• BS or BA in Engineering or Business Management; Management Cert or MBA preferred
• 5+ years of direct management experience
• Extensive experience in software development and engineering management.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Proficiency C# and .Net and equivalent frameworks.
• Experience with MVVM (Model-View-View Model) design patterns.
• Familiarity with best practices in software development, including coding standards, code reviews, and testing.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, related software and computers.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from peers, managers, and personnel from various departments.
• Ability to gather and analyze information skillfully, identifying and resolving problems in a timely manner.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and arms, talk and hear.
• Good communication skills.
• Get along with others, not creating a hostile work environment.
• Ability to work with and as a Team.
• Travel to other offices may be required on occasion.
